Seven Hills - Better Late Than Never EP [Review]

So today we decided to look into a band that is beginning to make a bit of a name for themselves, known as "Seven Hills." Within the "Better Late Than Never EP," The band cleverly combine happy guitar melodies with nice pacy drum beats and well thought out lyrical structures to create some very nice and catchy tracks.

MRG's Top Tracks:

3; Days Like These

With a strong lead guitar running throughout the song, which matches the vocal patterns really helps to bring them out and highlight them, this mixed with catchy chanting backing vocals, mixed with a very nice little breakdown half way through the song helps this track into number 3 position in our top 3 of the album, you will be humming this tune to yourself for weeks once you have heard it, so be warned!

2; Hunter With A Gun

This song is full of energy right from the start, and has a bit of everything packed into it, it starts off with A very nice 2-guitar riff to start off with, but once that drumroll and off-beat drumbeat start, you have no choice but to concentrate on them, this leads nicely onto a bass guitar breakdown, which kicks back in with a very nicely written guitar solo. This is again another song that you will probably be humming back to yourself for weeks after hearing it.

1; Assassin In Black

After listening to the album a number of times, I have to say that this one by far stuck out to me, the overall feel of the song reminded me of a beautiful blend of indie and Ska that created something special here. I believe that this is down to the pace of the song, mixed nicely with guitar riff and the slight delay on the vocals.

A nice album from Seven Hills here, really like their take on matters, and the way that they have managed to convey their ideas through their tunes, a very nice album and well worth a listen if you have a spare half hour!

Thanks for reading!

Until next time...
