Dirt - Mirrors EP [Review]

Welcome back to MRG Reviews, this time we look at the 5-piece band 'Dirt' and their debut EP 'Mirrors'. This EP is definitely for the rock fans among us and for people that appreciate great vocal range. The three songs on this EP will leave you wanting more and wondering when the next will be released. Each song on this EP is an absolute tune and is very well crafted, making for an EP that will be set on repeat until your whiplash claim comes through for head banging too much.

MRG's Top Tracks:

3: Time To Grow This song starts with a nice chilled piano riff with vocals complimenting it to kick the song off. After the piano cuts out the song kicks in using a fast-paced drum fill and really starts to bring an angry element to the song, a cool contrast to the start of the song. This whole song is instrumentally so well thought out and the vocals just reinforce the song and really make it awesome. A really nice range of vocals is used in this song too! 2: Bonds This song begins with an amazing drum effect that echoes until the vocals bring the instruments in and it all comes in to a very catchy and punchy intro as the lead singer climbs the scales. The song then moves to a fast paced, melodic verse and smoothly runs into the chorus, another head banger for sure! This song in particular shows the effortlessness of the vocalist's switching between screams and clean vocals, true talent. 1: Fade This song leaves no room for a build up and kicks off from the start. This song was the first song I heard by them and is my personal favourite from this EP. This song has very clever, well thought-out lyrics along with very well structured instrumentals and this makes for another very catchy and head banging song that you can really belt out. This song has everything from good lyrics, to good instrumentals, and even a face melting solo towards the end! Beautiful. There is no point in this EP where I felt like skipping a song and would definitely recommend it to any rock fan that is looking for a new band to listen to! This band has turned heads at the festivals they have performed at and have even managed to maintain great energy in their recorded tracks.
